Amanda Layne Miller is a storyteller with a focus on the bizarre, surreal, & magical. A firm believer that fantasy is just an extension of reality, Amanda infuses fantasy and Afrosurrealism into even her most straightforward projects. Her love for all things magically comedic began with works of art such as Bratz Fashion Pixiez, That’s So Raven, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and grew with influences like Sofia Coppola, Tim Burton, Michaela Coel, and Hayao Miyazaki.

Amanda has developed an animated comedy/sci-fi feature film with Netflix, been a TV Staff Writer for an unannounced Spider-Man project and sci-fi show DREAM HUNTERS in Los Angeles & Beijing, Writers’ Assistant on multiple shows, and was featured on Coverfly’s Next List of upcoming writers in the industry in 2023. Most recently, she wrote, directed, and starred in a short film about One Direction with her comedy partner & sister Amber.

Together, Amanda and Amber founded Fangirl Central, a multimedia company creating film, TV, and ditigal content, hosting events, and helping companies activate audiences & build fandoms. After an Acast-supported podcast, a One Direction drag show, a Twilight game show, and an original musical revue about Black fangirls healing from white Disney Channel content, they now host events in LA with the dedicated purpose of bringing together passionate communities of marginalized and underrepresented fans and artists.

Fangirl Central has been featured in Vulture Mag, Polyester Zine, and a Paramount+ original documentary.
